A unique combination approach to muscular relief therapy using massage and the Emmett Technique

Massage can simply be the perfect solution for anyone who needs to relieve muscle tension, rid themselves of that aching back, neck or shoulders and completely de-stress whilst promoting relaxation.

Working on the superficial to deep layers of muscle and connective tissue, massage attempts to enhance function, promote relaxation and provide a better sense of well -being.

EMMETT Technique Explained

• Safe & simple muscle release

• Address pain & movement restrictions

• Light finger pressure

The Emmett Technique is a unique form of body therapy, involving the application of light finger pressure at specific points. It is based on the belief that light touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissue, helping relieve tensions resulting in feelings of improved comfort within the body.

The result is often instantaneous feelings of greater comfort.

The Benefits

The relaxing nature of the technique results in people reporting typical responses such as: improved comfort & ease within the area treated such as back, abdomen, hips, legs, knees, ankles, feet, shoulders, arm, hand and neck.

• A sense of lightness within their body

• More restful sleep

• Enhanced mood

How Does It Work?

There is no current scientific explanation for the mechanism by which it achieves the relaxation response. However, we believe a good analogy is that of a digital touch-screen.

We believe the EMMETT points are small sensory receptors that allow access to the brain via the therapists’ touch. The brain then evaluates this stimulus and initiates the relaxation response of the soft tissue.

The pressure required is not heavy or painful. “No pain no gain” has NO place in the EMMETT therapist’s approach.
